Victoria’s face tumor caused her discomfort for a full five years. When she was out in public, strangers would look away to avoid her. The growth of the tumor was directly correlated to her inability to obtain the necessary medical attention. There was a sense that change was hopeless because of this. A three-day journey proved difficult for her, but she was determined to reach the Africa Mercy for the life-changing surgery that she knew would be possible there. Donating to Mercy Ships is an immediate way to improve people’s lives.
Woman born with no CHIN undergoes incredible surgery to re-build her face
On top of being embarrassed by her appearance, the shape of Fon’s face caused her to snore excessively and she was unable to eat properly
THESE are the amazing transformation photos of a Thai girl born with no chin who won surgery to have her face rebuilt.
Wijitpraphorn Punbu, 19, from Thailand, better known by her nickname, Fon, has endured years of teasing and ridicule for her lack of chin and crooked, protruding teeth.
The trauma of being bullied prompted her to enter a TV show that offers contestants the change to win an all-expenses paid trip to Korea for plastic surgery that will change their lives.
The show, called Thailand Let Me In, is similar to Britain’s Got Talent in the sense that thousands of contestants enter for their chance to win.
Judges decided on the winner based on their physical and mental condition, and how surgery could improve their lives.
Fon was lucky enough to win and be given the opportunity to change her appearance.
She effectively had no chin and badly protruding teeth, which made her face appear even more misshapen.
On top of being embarrassed by her appearance, the shape of Fon’s face caused her to snore excessively and she was unable to eat properly, which gave her digestion problems.
She said: “Until I had the surgery I had a sad and lonely life.
“People would tease me all through my life and it hurt.
“I feel I can now go out and not feel ashamed or embarrassed of how I look.”
Fon’s transformation took three-months and now, after having her teeth straightened and her chin enhanced, she is barely recognisable from the woman she was before.
She said of her time in Korea: “I missed my mum and sister but it’s all been worth it.
“After all, there’s nobody that says they don’t want to be beautiful.”
