Jimmy Carter’s son Chip Carter claims that despite worries about his failing health, Jimmy Carter stayed dedicated to taking care of his wife, Rosalynn, until the very end.
At the age of 96, Rosalynn passed away on November 19 and was placed in hospice care beside her spouse. Six months prior, the well-known philanthropist and former first lady had received a dementia diagnosis.
As Rosalynn’s health deteriorated, 99-year-old Jimmy made the painful decision to be by himself with her. They spent their last moments together in a hospice bed.
Jimmy stated that he was committed to keeping Rosalynn safe, even though it was unclear which came first.
